A very busy December 2018

We have been working hard all year round preparing the people in our settlements in Alto Cayma for the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation. The Alto Cayma mission’s still growing and many people are still coming to the area from different parts of Peru, especially the southern Andean mountains. New settlements are being formed and in many cases we are still in the “first contact” process with the community. We are always discovering people who have a simple and at the same time very deep faith, but still lacking the sacramental life. Beautiful people with a great sense of God and solidarity with the rest of the community. On the 24th of November we had two Community Baptism services in which 67 adults received the sacrament of baptism. On the 8th of December we had two more services in which 78 people received the Eucharist for the first time and on the 16th of December we had 99 people who received the sacrament of Confirmation.

December is also a time for Christmas celebrations and we celebrated with all the different groups of the parish as well as with the different formed groups in various settlements.
